![]() There has been a large change in the corporate governance regulatory framework in Japan in the last 10 years. The most noticeable shift has been in the composition of Japanese boards, which have both greatly decreased in size and increased in independence. However, Japanese companies are still subject to considerable criticism from investing institutions, particularly from outside of Japan, for poor governance practices.
![]() Dr Olcott, who was born and lived for 10 years as a child in Japan, is a UK citizen. He has spent much of his working life in Japan, in the airline business and then as an investment banker. He left the banking industry at the age of 46 to pursue an academic career, obtaining a PhD in management at the University of Cambridge. Since 2008, he has had extensive experience on the boards of various Japanese companies. He is a resident of Tokyo. Moderator: Gilles Campagnolo (CNRS/FRIJ-MFJ) Organization: FRIJ-MFJ |
