Japon, Chine, Corée : vers une conscience historique commune ?

Cet article présente les tentatives passées et présentes d'élaboration d'une conscience historique commune au Japon, à la Chine et à la Corée du Sud. Comités officiels examinant attentivement les différends historiques entre les États, groupements citoyens tentant de mettre au point du matériel pédagogique commun, initiatives locales ou individuelles – contrairement à l'image courante de foire d'empoigne historique, les trois pays se confrontent aussi courageusement aux questions les plus sensibles concernant le passé. Néanmoins, une comparaison avec l'expérience européenne, notamment celle du manuel franco-allemand, invite à la prudence quant aux réelles chances de succès de ces tentatives.

Japan, China, Korea: Toward a Common Historical Consciousness?

This paper introduces past and current attempts to forge a common historical consciousness between Japan, China, and South Korea — official committees examining the historical disagreements between the three countries, citizen groups attempting to create common learning material, and local or individual initiatives. Contrary to the common view of being a historical battlefield, Japan, China, and South Korea have also been courageously confronting the largest issues concerning their shared past. Nevertheless, a comparison with the European experience, especially that of the French-German common textbook, prompts caution regarding these attempts' real chance for success.

中国・日本・韓国：共通の歴史認識は可能か？

本稿では、日中韓における共通歴史認識追求の過去と現在を考察する。 三国は、歴史について意見を戦わせるのみでなく、国家間の歴史認識相違をあらゆる角度から検討する公式委員会や、 共通教材の作成を試みる市民団体、それに、地方レベルや個人レベルで行われている活動の数々を通して、 過去についての最もセンシティブな問題に真剣に向き合っている。それにもかかわらず、ヨーロッパの経験、 特に仏独共通教科書の経験を鑑みるに、日中韓の試みの成功は必ずしも確実なものとは言い難い。
